When did you last stop to look at your surroundings? When did you last stop and take a minute to look at flowers in the sunshine, or your group of friends on a night out? My life (like many others i'm sure) consists of Eat-Sleep-Work-Repeat, with a bit of socialising here and there thrown in. I've got a masters degree in the works, a brand new website with my best friend (Hi C!) and a long-term relationship with my other best friend.
Just over a week ago, a man named Scott checked in to a hotel, left his things and walked in to the nearby canal. He was battling depression for years, but in the end the demons were too loud - so he put an end to it. Losing Scott broke my heart, along with thousands more who connected with his music. Two years ago I saw Funeral For A Friend play their last ever live show, closing a chapter that spanned 12 or 13 years of my life. Nothing is promised in this life, it's time we started paying attention. Tell those close to you that you love them. Stop for that quick pint that you know someone really needs, even though you're not in the mood or don't really have time.
You never know what's going on in the background in someone's life, you'll never know what a difference five minutes can make.
Be good to each other.
